Day 01: Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Kigali. Depending on your arrival time, you can visit some of the city’s attractions, including the Genocide Memorial Center, which provides a comprehensive history of Rwanda’s tragic past, the Kigali Convention Center, and the Kimironko Market, where you can purchase a wide range of souvenirs and crafts.

Day 02: Akagera National Park

After breakfast, depart for Akagera National Park, which is Rwanda’s largest national park. Here, you can enjoy a morning game drive and spot various wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and more. Later, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you will see hippos and crocodiles. Overnight stay in Akagera National Park.

Day 03: Lake Kivu

In the morning, enjoy another game drive in Akagera National Park before heading to Lake Kivu, located in Rwanda’s Western Province. This beautiful lake is surrounded by green hills and offers a variety of water activities such as swimming, kayaking, and fishing. You can also take a walk along the beach or relax on the sand while admiring the stunning views.

Day 04: Volcanoes National Park

Drive to Volcanoes National Park and visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund’s Karisoke Research Center to learn about gorilla conservation efforts. Afterward, you can visit a nearby community to learn about Rwanda’s traditional dances, songs, and crafts. This cultural visit provides an opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their way of life. Overnight stay in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 05: Departure

he highlight of the trip is gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, home to several endangered mountain gorilla families. Early in the morning, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Afterward, hike through the forest with an experienced guide to locate the gorillas and spend an hour observing and interacting with them. After trekking, you can relax at your accommodation before returning to Kigali. Depending on your departure time, you can visit some craft markets to buy souvenirs before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
