Day 01: Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your driver-guide who will transfer you to your hotel. If time allows, take a relaxing walk on the shores of Lake Victoria and explore the nearby botanical gardens. The gardens are a beautiful display of flora and fauna and are home to a variety of bird species. You may also have the opportunity to learn about the traditional uses of some of the plants from the friendly local guides. This is a perfect way to unwind after your flight and acclimatize to the country.

Day 02: Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Kibale Forest National Park. The drive will take you through scenic countryside, including tea plantations and traditional homesteads. Upon arrival, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-owned swamp that offers an excellent opportunity for bird watching and primate viewing. There are a number of trails that wind through the wetland, offering the chance to spot various monkey species and rare birds. In the afternoon, you may opt to visit a nearby village to learn about the local culture, including traditional dances and music.

Day 03: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on a morning chimpanzee trekking excursion in Kibale Forest. Your expert guide will lead you through the forest in search of these fascinating primates, and you will learn about their behavior, habitat, and conservation efforts. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a diverse landscape of savannah plains, tropical forest, and crater lakes. In the evening, you can take a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and various bird species.

Day 04: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spend the day exploring the vast habitats of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with its rich biodiversity and unique wildlife. Take a game drive through the park to spot lions, leopards, buffaloes, antelopes, and many other animals. The park is also home to over 600 bird species, so keep an eye out for the brightly colored kingfishers, bee-eaters, and eagles. In the afternoon, you can visit the crater lakes for stunning panoramic views and learn about their geology and formation.

Day 05: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most biodiverse areas in Africa, with over 120 mammal species and 350 bird species. You can relax in the afternoon or take a guided nature walk in the forest, where you can spot various monkey species and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day 06: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

This is the day you’ve been waiting for – gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast and briefing by the park rangers, you will set off into the forest in search of the gorillas. Your experienced guide will lead you through the dense forest, and once you’ve found the gorillas, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. It is a truly magical experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Day 07: Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savanna park in Uganda. Upon arrival, take an afternoon game drive to explore the park’s diverse wildlife, including zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and various bird species. Enjoy the scenic views of rolling hills, open savanna, and acacia woodlands.

Day 08: Departure

On the last day, take a guided nature walk or game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Spot the park’s variety of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and various bird species. Afterward, you will drive back to Entebbe for your departure flight. If time allows, stop at the equator for some memorable photos and souvenir shopping. This is an ideal time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences, cultural interactions, and stunning landscapes you have encountered during your Uganda safari.
