What you'll see there

The park is also famous for its stunning waterfalls, which provide a picturesque backdrop to the abundant wildlife. The Murchison Falls, after which the park is named, is the main attraction of the park. The Nile River, the world’s longest river, passes through a narrow gorge before plunging 43 meters down to form the falls, creating a spectacular sight. Visitors can witness the falls from different viewpoints, each offering a unique perspective of the breathtaking falls. The falls also provide an ideal habitat for birdlife, with several bird species commonly seen flying around the falls.
Game drives and boat safaris are the two most popular activities in Murchison Falls National Park. Experienced guides take visitors through the park’s savannah plains and woodlands, providing opportunities to spot a variety of animals. In addition to the Big Five, the park is also home to giraffes, hyenas, crocodiles, and hippos. Boat safaris provide a unique opportunity to explore the park’s diverse aquatic life, and the boat ride takes visitors along the Victoria Nile River, where they can spot crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of bird species.
For a more active experience, visitors can go on a guided nature walk through the park’s woodlands and savannah plains. The walk provides an opportunity to spot animals up close and learn about the park’s diverse flora and fauna. For a more cultural experience, visitors can visit the nearby Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where they can see rhinos up close and learn about the efforts to protect this endangered species.
